Overview & Traits
A Dwelf is a dwarf cat that is particularly hairless. It comes in the eight Siamese colors (Seal pt Chocolate pt Lilac pt Flame pt Cream pt Lynx pt Tortoiseshell)— it’s also very short-legged, and has coiled, sprang back curly-eared ears that were genetically derived from Sphynx, American Curl, and Munchkin stock to create their kind altogether. The breed is of US origin and is recognized by the Dwarf Cat Association (or Designer Cat Association.)
Trait Profile
Breed History
The origins of the Dwelf date back many decades, surrounded by fascinating lore and dedicated breeding programs. Early foundation cats were crossbred to solidify the standard traits we observe today. It quickly gained international recognition by the WCF and other major registries.
Living Needs
When it comes to the living environment, the Dwelf thrives in spaces where it can safely explore, play, and interact with its family. They benefit from vertical spaces like cat trees and regular mental stimulation. A balanced diet and routine veterinary check-ups are essential for their well-being.
